Cheap Home Security System
Securing the home and protecting it from burglary
and fire is a top priority for most homeowners.
However, the cost of purchasing, installing and
maintaining these systems can be very expensive. It
is possible to create a cheap home security system
that works well yourself. Below are some ideas.
* A lot of homeowners make the mistake of
forgetting about the garage door as a potential
entry point for intruders. Secure your garage doors
with an aftermarket garage door lock. They are very
inexpensive and make breaking in through the garage
door almost impossible.
* Alarm company signs are a great deterrent. Many
companies sell their signs very cheap because it is
good advertising for them. If you can't afford the
system, at least get the sign because it does work
to scare off many potential burglars.
* Get a dual action detector. There are smoke
detectors that will also detect carbon monoxide. The
costs of these units are much less than buying a
separate detector for each.
* There really is no need for expensive and
intricate security camera systems. One wireless
security camera is great to provide the homeowner
with views of a significant portion of the exterior
of the home. Also, it's very easy to connect it to
your home computer for viewing and recording the
feed.
* Fake cameras are great deterrents as well. You
can buy fake cameras that look identical to the real
thing for less than ten dollars. Putting them up,
along with a real one, gives any potential intruder
the idea that the home is very well secured and not
worth the risk. |
